Think Trustee’ workshop

How to make a REAL DIFFERENCE for your organisation.

WHO IS THE ‘THINK TRUSTEE’ WORKSHOP FOR?

Whether you’re a new  or existing trustee, this workshop will allow you to be clearer on your role, duties and provide clarity on how you can make the most impact. We’ll discuss what you give and what you get from being a trustee. We’ll address the frustrations and the fears. And by the end of the Workshop you’ll have your own roadmap to making a real difference in your organisation.

WHY IS THIS WORKSHOP RIGHT FOR YOU?

Let’s say that you want to make an impact for your organisation, but you are not sure where to start or how to make changes. Trustees are not expected to be perfect but they are expected to do their best to comply with their duties.

There are a few great reasons why this would be right for you and your organisation:

  • you will understand the protocols for developing relationships with the people who are involved in the organisation, both employees and beneficiaries.
  • you will understand the strategic vs operational responsibilities of a trustee
  • you will understand the governance and strategic functions of the Board
  • you will quickly gain a clear understanding of what’s expected of you in your role as a trustee
  • you will be far more educated about your role

Over the course of the year we’ll be holding a number of  ‘Think Trustee’ Workshops that are open to new, aspiring or veteran trustee’s.

What have previous attendees said about this workshop?

John Cleisham

“Firstly this was a great opportunity to network with other Trustees and to hear and share common issues. Several of the attendees could point to real experiences where the session content was relevant or knowledge of which could have prompted alternative approaches/course of action. There is massive potential for the sector to ‘operate more smartly’ and sessions like this workshop are exactly the thing that organisations will benefit from. Highly recommend this workshop.”

“I have recently become a Trustee on two Charitable Boards which has been a personal ambition. I am really keen to get involved however I found that I had no idea what I was responsible for, or what I was supposed to be doing. This workshop has really clarified everything for me. I now know what I need to do to really contribute to these worthwhile organisations. Essential facts, lateral thinking, open discussion and meeting others like me has been so beneficial. I would thoroughly recommend this workshop for all new and existing Trustees who want to make a difference”

I have been a Trustee for a while, is this workshop still suitable for me?

I believe it will be hugely beneficial. If you have knowledge of the roles & responsibilities this is great and you may just be looking for a refresher. You may wish to understand how you can make more of an impact in your role as a Trustee and these would be great reasons to attend.  If however, you feel you are very comfortable in your role and everything is going well then this may not be the right workshop for you. Please contact me if you need more info.
